PALM Corps, Vision For Humanity (ViFoH), and People Empowering People (PEP) have been implementing a 4 months COVID -19 Response Project in Arua District since May 2020 with funding from OXFAM. The project contributed to 1) strengthen community surveillance 2) Enhance risk communication and social mobilization 3) strengthen WASH campaigns in 3 food markets and 4) provide soap and salt to 140 selected vulnerable households.
The consortium partners organized a formal end of the project meeting in August 2020 at Yoro Based Camp in Rhino Camp. The meeting was also used as a needs assessment exercise to respond to the call for proposal by OXFAM in Cash Transfer Programming. Feedback and recommendations obtained were integrated into the formulation of the CTP proposal. For instance, the mask production and access road rehabilitation using the Cash for Work approach and provision of unconditional cash grants to most vulnerable households were integrated into the CTP proposal. During the end of the project meeting a diverse stakeholder consultation with DRC, NRC, ZOA, Plan International, OPM, Sub-county officials from Terego district, RWC, VHT, and LC representatives, other HRGF Consortium partners and beneficiaries in HRGF I and II were conducted.
